Why Preservé™ by Motiva® Aligns With the Denver Lifestyle

People move to Denver to be outside. Weekends are for skiing, trail runs, climbing gyms, and long days at altitude. So when Denver women consider breast augmentation, the first question is often not about size. It is about how long they will have to sit still.

Preservé™ by Motiva® was designed with that question in mind. Here is why it has become a natural fit for active Colorado patients.

 Preservé

What Preservé™ Is

Preservé™ is a breast augmentation technique that focuses on protecting the tissue you already have. Your surgeon places a Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix® implant through a small incision in the breast crease, using instruments that gently create space for the implant instead of cutting widely inside the breast. The implant sits over the chest muscle, and the muscle itself is left alone.

For a full walkthrough of the procedure, see our Preservé™ breast augmentation page.

Less Time Away from the Things You Love

Recovery is the main reason active patients ask about Preservé™. Because less tissue is disturbed, most patients describe the first days as sore, not painful, and move their arms comfortably much sooner than they expected.

As opposed to a traditional breast augmentation, you are under twilight anesthesia rather than general anesthesia. This assists with the recovery timeline.

A typical timeline looks like this:

Timeframe Activity Level / Milestones
First few days Return to desk work and everyday routines
About 2 weeks Resume walking, easy hiking, and light exercise
About 6 weeks Return to running, lifting, yoga, and higher-impact sports (with surgeon clearance)

Every patient heals differently, and your surgeon will clear you for each stage at your follow-up visits. For most people, though, it means a pause of about six weeks, not a whole season.

Minimally Invasive

With Preservé™, the muscle is not cut or lifted. That matters if your week includes:

  • Climbing or bouldering, where your chest and shoulders work on every move
  • Skiing and snowboarding, where you pole, push up from falls, and carry gear
  • Yoga, Pilates, and barre, with planks and chaturangas
  • Strength training, including push-ups and presses

Your strength returns sooner, and your breasts keep their shape when you flex.

 Preservé

A Natural Look

Denver style leans understated. Most of our Preservé™ patients are looking for natural results. They want to fill out a sports bra or a swimsuit, restore volume lost after pregnancy or weight loss, and still look like themselves.

Preservé™ is built for that goal. It uses implant sizes chosen to match your natural breast width, and the Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix® implant is designed to move with your body, so it looks and feels soft whether you are standing, lying down, or mid-run.

The incision is small and sits in the breast crease, where it is hidden by a sports bra or bikini top. Keep it out of the sun while it heals. Colorado's high-altitude UV can darken a new scar.

It fits between Colorado's seasons

A shorter recovery gives you more choices about when to have surgery. Many Denver patients plan around the quiet stretches of the outdoor calendar:

  • Late fall, after hiking season and before the lifts are running in earnest
  • Spring mud season, after the resorts close and before summer trails dry out

If skiing is your priority, our guide to planning plastic surgery around ski season shows how far ahead to book.

When Another Approach Is Better

Preservé™ is one option, not the answer for everyone. A different technique may suit you better if you:

  • Want a larger increase in size
  • Have had previous breast surgery

Preservé™ can also be combined with a breast lift in select cases. Your surgeon will tell you whether that applies to you.

Our article, Am I a Candidate for Preservé™?, covers this in more detail, and a consultation will give you a clear answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can I work out after Preservé™?

Most patients start light exercise at about two weeks and return to full training at about six weeks, with clearance from their surgeon.

Will implants get in the way of running or climbing?

Preservé™ uses modest sizes matched to your frame, so most active patients find their training feels the same once they have healed. A supportive sports bra is still important.

Does living at altitude affect recovery?

Patients who live in Denver are already used to the elevation. Stay well hydrated, and ask your surgeon before heading much higher in the first weeks.

How long do the results last?

Breast implants are not lifetime devices, but many last for years. Your surgeon will explain the follow-up and monitoring schedule.
